IOP publishes Physica Scripta on behalf of the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences for the Science Academies and the Physical Societies of the Nordic Countries.

Editor’s Choice 2007

The collection of papers chosen by the Editors to represent the excellent, diverse and informative work produced by our authors during 2007 is available from the tile on the right side of this page.

Assignment of Copyright Form

Please note that the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences retains the copyright on all Physica Scripta papers, Comments, and Topical Issue articles. Therefore the standard IOP copyright form is not appropriate for submissions. Authors submitting articles through the ATOM system will receive the correct form by default. All other submissions should use the pdf form here - PS Assignment of Copyright form.

The signed form should be submitted as an e-mail attachment to physscr@iop.org stating 'copyright form submission' in the subject line, or sent to the Publishing Administrator via regular mail (address in Submission addresses).

Topical Issues

These volumes, published separately from the regular journal issues, contain invited presentations and/or poster contributions from international conferences. One volume each year contains the published proceedings from the annual Nobel Physics Symposium.

Topical Issues published in 2008 are:

  • T130: Nobel Symposium 135: Physics of Planetary Systems
  • T131: XII Latin American Workshop on Plasma Physics
  • T132: International Conference on Turbulent Mixing and Beyond
  • T133: A Stellar Journey: A Symposium in Celebration of Bengt Gustafsson's 65th Birthday
Direct links to these volumes can be found further down this page.

Comments

Physica Scripta also publishes Comments. These should describe the current thinking of leading researchers on outstanding problems. They may include discussion of open questions, questions that recent work has apparently closed, important new applications, new theoretical or experimental approaches, or predictions of future developments. Comments are meant to bridge gaps in readers' knowledge and provide insight into problems, methods and results in different areas of physics. The sections are:
  • Comments on Atomic, Molecular and Optical Physics (CAMOP)
  • Comments on Condensed Matter Physics (CCMP)
  • Comments on Nuclear and Particle Physics (CNPP)
  • Comments on Plasma Physics and Controlled Fusion (CPPCF)
  • Comments on Astrophysics and Cosmology (CAC)
To see all Comments papers published in 2008 to date and for the previous 2 years please see here.
